5.B¹ Tom and Helen form the Robinson family. They are both negro and therefore the white people in the village think negative about them. Black people don’t get much chances in southern America. Usually they don’t have a reasonable job and are doing little jobs around the houses of white people. After Tom had died and Helen got herself a job, Mr Ewell followed her to her work, calling her names and harassing her. Luckily there are some white people who think all men are equal (like Atticus and Link Deas) and they protect them.
