Winston Smith works for the Ministry of Truth. His job is to change history in order to make it fit into the ruling political ideas. He is very good at this. There is just one problem: he himself forgot how it used to be in earlier years. He gets a strong homesickness to the past. The rulers of Oceania where Winston works for have a thought-police and they monitor every thought so theyre sure that everybody agrees with the Party. Winston doesnt really agree with the Partys ideas, so he writes everything down in his diary. Having y
