EXPLANATION: Jay Gatsby is the name of the neighbour from the narrator of the story. He is also the main person in the story.
But at the end of the story it appears that he isn’t as popular as everybody thought he was; at his funeral only a few people were present. So the title The Great Gatsby could be used ironically.
