Personal reaction to the book.
- I liked the fact that the story was about a family and that almost nobody knew that the parents of Julie, Jack, Sue and Tom died. I also liked the way Ian McEwan wrote the book. It pleased me that the story was told from Jack’s point of view, so that I only knew what he was thinking. It made the story more interesting and exciting.
- My favourite scene was when the children discovered that their mother was dead and when the decided to keep it a secret. This made the whole story a little bit mysterious and more interesting. You alrea
