The war of the worlds, Wells, H.G.

In the first chapter the writer tells us that on the planet of Mars intelligent beings are preparing to capture Earth. The Martians want to have Earth because of its biological richness, wich is something they can consume. They have followed all the movements on the Earth to pick a moment and place for an attack.

In 1894 when Mars was in opposition a great light was seen on the illuminated part of the sphere; the Martians were coming. Ever
